After Oktoberfest Thank You Fellowship Meal You are invited to a fellowship meal following worship on Sunday, November 14 in the Parish Hall. Pastor Rhoades will be cooking a simple soup lunch for the congregation. Please come for some great fellowship and food!

Join us for Hope for the Holidays, on Nov 14th after Oktoberfest soups. Hope for the Holidays is a LIRS (Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services) program. On the 14th, we will write cards for families and children who are spending Christmas behind bars. This program seeks to inspire hope, following the example of how Christ offered hope through His birth and teachings. These Christmas cards will remind our neighbors that we haven't forgotten them. Want to do more? To buy Christmas presents for immigrant children, you can make a financial donation here: LIRS.org/GiveHope

Kid's Chairs for sale! FLC has more wooden children's chairs than we can use so we are opening them up for the congregation. Each chair will be $20 and all proceeds will help send FLC's youth to the the National Youth Gathering this summer. You can pay with cash, check, or online. See the youth on Sunday in the Narthex to purchase your chairs. For questions, email emily@firstlutherangalveston.com.

FLY (First Lutheran Youth) gathering Nov 14th at 2-4PM. Middle and High schoolers are invited to gather for snacks, bible study and games. This month, we will talk about God’s “Boundless Forgiveness”. If your youth can attend, RSVP to emily@firstlutherangalveston.com

Feeding 150 is our campaign to raise the last $1500 needed for Feed Galveston. These funds will make it possible to meet our goal of packaging 150,000 servings of food in 2021. We are asking for gifts that celebrate the number 150, such as $150, $50, or $1.50. Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to be part of Feed Galveston. Share Your Holidays Food Drive Our neighbors are hungry!  Which ones? At least 15% of our neighbors are food insecure on any given day of the year.  We can make a difference by collecting non-perishable food items and bringing them to the church for the Share Your Holidays Food Drive. These items will be collected through out November and will be delivered to Ball High School on Wednesday, Dec. 1 for the community gathering.  (Feed Galveston will also be packaging 50,000 servings of food in the Ball High School library! That same day – all high school volunteers.) Pick up a grocery bag at the church to help collect items or deposit your items in the food collection boxes in the Parish Hall building and the Narthex.

2 Organs, 4 Hands, 4 Feet" : Hold the Date: The Bach Society of Houston will offer an organ spectacular on Saturday, November 13, at 3:30 pm in the main sanctuary of Frist Lutheran. "2 Organs, 4 Hands, 4 Feet" will be offered in memory of Harold Matthias, a former member of Christ the King Lutheran, Houston, and a descendant of First Lutheran, Galveston. This will be a fun celebratory spectacular for all ages.

Update!
The Church Council reviewed the COVID-19 numbers for Galveston and Galveston County and changes the policy to masks are highly recommended if you are not vaccinated. This change reflects that we have seen a decrease in the numbers of hospitalized and positive individuals in our county. Please be mindful of the most vulnerable in our midst, as children under the age of 12 are not eligible for the vaccine at this time.

HOME Holy Communion Package: If you need home communion supplies as you worship virtually, please contact the Church Office as 409-762-8477 to arrange for your package of wafers.
